Anne: Watch it, or I'll crack a whip.
Erik: Oh, please.

Description
Anne is athletic, slender, and somewhat tall at 5'10". She has straight long brown hair, which she generally keeps braided or pulled back with barrettes, and hazel eyes. Anne has a smooth, pale complexion. Makeup...why bother, the computer doesn't care...unless she programs it to care. Tends to blend in despite her height, and she likes it that way.
My So-Called Life
Anne's family moved to Solomon during her freshman year to provide a more family-focused community than NYC. Unfortunately, this will be difficult since her father travels a lot and her mother likes to shop nearly as much as her husband travels.
The initial apple pie and cinnamon spice maternal behavior was driving Anne nuts when they first moved to Solomon. Over the course of the last year, though, Anne and her mother have come to a mutual understanding that is finally working. Only one significant obstacle remains: Her dreaded stepsister Madison. Moving to Solomon actually means that Madison will be around more often since she is attending college at Martense. Madison had always been "a perfect daughter" and never misses an opportunity to tell Anne.
If anyone asked, Anne would say that school would be great...if it weren't for the other students. In spite of staying in the 'background', Anne manages to pull off As & Bs.
As for a social life, get real. Not unless the topic is computers, chess, or medieval history. Why bother with the rest? Besides, most people are just monochrome in a VGA world. Afternoons with the chess club are fun on occasion. This year Anne was there for the club's election/tournament. 1st place is President, 2nd is Vice President, etc., which is how Anne became VP of the club. It was an explanation neither her mother nor Madison would ever hear - both of them actually believe that she suddenly developed a measure of popularity.
In recent years, Anne has been studying medieval martial arts (via: SCA, Renn Faire, HistoriCon). This has the added bonus of her parent's encouragement since "at least it's not computers and she's spending time with other people". Her parents are happy and haven't really thought about it beyond that. They even allow her to attend Historicon (July in PA). This last year, Anne was allowed to take a bus to the con, but more often, her mother drops her off.
Anne's prized possession is her 20 MHz 80386DX IBM (at least that's what it says on the case) with color monitor, 3" 1.4 MB floppy as well as the 'old' 5.25". The OS is the state-of-the-art Windows 3.0.
Anne's main goals in life are to avoid Madison and read books.
Family
Anne's father, John Crewe Jr., is an electrical engineer and troubleshooter who works for Lockheed. If anyone's wondering where Anne acquires her tech gear, well, this would answer part of the question.
Her mother, Frankie Crewe, is an interior decorator who likes to decorate everything. And, unfortunately, everyone.
Anne's stepsister Madison attends Martense College studying...well, who really cares?
