For all the students who just couldn't get enough of English teacher Michael Saiyer's mythology class, there was only one possible answer: Mythology club!
Throughout the year, club members could be found spending their afternoons reading ancient legends, making -- and dueling with! -- replica medieval weapons and armor, exploring Viking ruins in Scotland on Spring Break, or just hanging around in their "secret lair" -- otherwise known as the Sacred Grounds coffee shop -- discussing what they've learned. According to Mr. Saiyer, the most important part of studying mythology is learning to apply the wisdom of ancient storytellers to the modern world. Mythology Club gives students a hands-on way to have fun doing just that.
